Random

Spring went by so quickly in this house.  It's hard to believe summer break is already here. I now have a Kindergarten, 1st grade, and middle schooler.  Wow!  We've had a great spring so far and we're looking forward to a fun summer.  We travel to Louisiana in a few days to visit with Rick's brother, Jon, and his family.  From there, the kids and I will head to Tennesee for a week (unfortunately, Rick will have to fly back home while we're in Louisiana).  Davis will stay  an extra week for Camp Nana/Grandma while Andrew and Aubrey travel back with me.  We'll all head to the beach in July and celebrate Aubrey's 5th (yes, I said 5th) birthday.  She wants to have cake on the beach at sunset. Okay...  Then it's back to Tennessee in August for a few days to celebrate Nana's birthday before we head back to school.  Whew!  I'm tired already!  Wishing everyone a safe and fun summer!

Aubrey has been taking swimming lessons.  She's chatting with her teacher before they begin.

She's been doing awesome!!!

Such the little fish already!

They've been playing this Mysterious Mansion game on my nook and they finally unlocked all the clues to solve the game.

A trip to the zoo!

Silly pic!

Aubrey loves the carousel almost as much as she loves the...

...climbing wall.  Look at her go!

Feeding the giraffes.

So sweet!

She does love to pose for pictures!

Nana & Pa come to visit

It was awesome to have Nana & Pa here for almost 2 weeks!  They were able to watch Aubrey dance, celebrate with Andrew, and see Davis graduate from elementary school. We really appreciate them staying long enough to do all that.  The kids already miss you (and I do, too)!  Thank you for everything, we love you!

I love my mom!  Aubrey took this of us, you can see the edge of her little finger.

Having fun with my new phone.

The girls having frozen yogurt...

...and the boys with their treats.

Nana & Andrew in deep discussion at the zoo.

Andrew reading his book to Nana.

Andrew loves his Nana!

We love you Nana & Pa!  Thanks for coming to see us for such a long time!

5th Grade Graduation

Sigh.  How can it possibly be the end of Davis' elementary school career?  When did he get old enough to go to middle school?  He looked so handsome wearing a tie and he brought home two 93's and two 91's on his report card.  He has come such a long way and worked so hard.  We will miss River Springs for him, it's been like a family to us.  They have taken the best care of him and he has progressed an enormous amount in just the 3 years he has been there.  We love you, Davis and we know the future holds great things for you.

First time wearing a tie.

At first he wasn't super thrilled about it...

...but he was just so handsome and grown up!

The class gift, a bench.  I was on the graduation committee and I cannot tell you how many times this bench was moved to "just the perfect spot."  So frustrating!!!

Everything did look really nice in the end, though.

The cakes were very nice!  Too bad the new nutrition guidelines only allowed about an inch by inch piece for everyone.

Our neighbor, Allie.  Her mom was the one who got us to go to River Springs in the first place.

Davis getting his "diploma" and shaking his teacher, Mr. Carmody's hand.

Shaking the assistant principal's hand.

Davis is in the group to the left of the risers, almost right in the middle.

Not the best picture of Rick but still nice, especially nice to have Nana and Pa at this event, too.

Much better!  We love you Davis!

Aerial shot of 5th grade class.  Davis is on the far left, in a red jacket, standing right next to his teacher, Mr. Carmody, who is in the white shirt.

Andrew's Kindergarten Celebration

It is so hard to believe that Andrew is now an official first grader.  This year went by way too fast. River Springs does a very sweet Kindergarten Celebration where the students sing songs.  We were all very impressed at how well they all did!  Everyone did every motion, no one got silly, and every one stayed quiet and did exactly as they were supposed to.  We love this school!  When the program ended, we all headed back to the classrooms for refreshments and awards.  I am super proud of my smart Andrew who tested the year out at an end of first grade reading level!  We love you Andrew!!

Andrew is on the second row from the bottom, 6th from the right.  He's wearing a navy blue polo shirt & he's just too cute!

Mrs. Sample, the Kindergarten assistant.  We LOVE her!!!! She's crazy about Aubrey and we really hope we get to be in this class again next year.

Mrs. Cook- Best. Kindergarten. Teacher. Ever.

Aubrey already fits right in.

We were so happy that Nana & Pa were able to come.

Our neighbor, Sean.  They were good friends this year.

William was his best friend...

...they shared a lot of the same interests.

Nana & Aubrey.

Mrs. Cook said she learned a lot from Andrew this year, mostly how to pronounce the names of all the dinosaurs correctly.  :)

Andrew received the Most Studious award.  We weren't surprised and we were very proud!

Rick's mini-me.

So proud of my super smart, super sweet boy!

Aubrey's recital

Aubrey's big day finally arrived- her first big recital.  It was at the Koger Center downtown and the auditorium was packed!!  Nana and Pa were here to see it and Annette, Nikki, & Morgan also came along. She did great!  We weren't allowed to take pictures or video inside but she was precious and not nervous at all.  In fact, she's already signed up for the fall and can't wait to do it again.  So proud of my big girl!

I couldn't love this sweet girl more!  Isn't she beautiful?

Daddy's girl!

Celebrating her big day with Nana.
