Davis' First Band Concert

Davis' middle school is so huge that the band concert had to be split into two different times to accommodate everyone.  The concert really surprised and impressed us, especially considering they only go to band every other day and have only had their instruments since late September.  He rocked the drums and we were extremely proud!

My little drummer boy (sorry, Nana).

Playing the drums.

Moving to the xylophone.

Huge band and this is only half!!

Andrew as the Mystery Reader

Every Friday in Mrs. Cook's class there is a Mystery Reader.  Friends and family of the students each sign up for a Friday.  Siblings are a huge hit and Davis read for Andrew's class last year.  This year Andrew got to be the Mystery Reader.  Aubrey was thrilled!  He did an awesome job and we were all proud of how much he's grown!  I love my babies!!

Aubrey was so surprised!  Look at her little arms reaching out to him.

He looked so big and he did such a great job!

She was so happy!

Family pictures

This year we decided to do some family pictures of the 5 of us plus Nana & Pa.  My good friend from high school, Charity Myatt, took the pictures at the Cool Springs House.  She has her own business, Third Muse Portraits.  I think they turned out amazing!

Thanksgiving

This year we were able to have an extended visit to TN for Thanksgiving.  The weather promised to be bad on the Tuesday before so we actually left on Monday around lunch time.  The best reaction belonged to Davis. When he walked into the office and saw me, his shoulders slumped and he asked me whether he was in trouble or if something was wrong.  When I told him we were leaving for Nana & Pa's a day early, he actually dropped his backpack and started crying, he was so happy.  The weather was a little nasty but much better than the next day.  A huge thank you to Grandma & Grandpa for taking all three of our children for the night on Thanksgiving night (Grandma's birthday) so Rick and I could have a date.  Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!

Library time!

Peaceful moment of reading with Andrew.  He was reading about his new favorite subject, the Titanic.

I love that he loves to read!  He didn't even want to take his coat off.

Baking the pies with Nana the day before Thanksgiving.
