Quick trip to Nashville Jan 2011

Ready to get started.

Nana supervising (Andrew didn't want any help).

Davis ready to paint.

Caron made such sweet plates with Molly Cate's hand prints.

Daddy helping Aubrey.

Mommy's turn to supervise.

Davis putting his hand print on Nana's plate.

Aubrey's turn.

Andrew liked the blue hand print he made.

The finished product. So cute!

Mommy made a plate, too.

Andrew chose an alligator after his dinosaur!

Looking very little...

...in the very big rocking chair!

Looking for "burds."

Nana had to look, too.

Definitely a Pa's girl!

The children were out of school ALL WEEK due to the snow and we all had (more than) a little bit of cabin fever so we packed up and headed to Nashville for a few days. Thanks so much to Betty for organizing a trip to paint pottery, all 3 children had a blast! It was great to be able to spend more time with Kyle, Caron, and of course, Molly Cate!

Snow day number two

Ice!

Aubrey loves snow!

As I was taking this picture, I noticed Andrew had somehow managed to get outside without his mittens!

Pretty snow.

There they go!

Andrew's favorite thing to do in the snow- snow angels!

Aubrey's coat was too poufy to let her do a proper snow angel!

You can't play in the snow without a train!

They were so excited I let them play in the street.

Examining the tire tracks.

Hard at work.

If he only knew what real shoveling was all about...

Whew! What a day this has been! We got the call last night that schools would be out today. Rick got the call at 6am that he didn't have to go to work. Then at 6:45, we got a call from our good friends, Fred & Kristie, that Kristie was at the hospital in labor... and Fred's parents, who were trying to drive in from NC, had run off the road a few miles from here and needed help. A tow truck came to get their car and dropped them off at a nearby Waffle House. Rick left here, picked them up, took them to the hospital, and then came home. He's a great driver in the snow but I was still nervous. I am proud to be married to such a wonderful man! Fred & Kristie and Fred's parents were so very thankful to Rick. Fred's parents made it to the hospital with about an hour to spare, Annie Kate Gore was born around noon.

In the middle of all that drama, my children really wanted to play in the snow so we all bundled up and headed outside for a little bit (some of us more bundled up than others- I noticed after a few minutes, that Andrew didn't have his mittens on). It was super cold but none of them seemed to notice! We stayed out for a little bit but then headed on in for dry clothes and some hot chocolate! Happy snow day!

Carolina/Vandy basketball game

Rick and I were able to relive our early years together and go to a basketball game tonight. When we were first together, we used to go to see the Atlanta Hawks play, Lipscomb University play and we went to at least one Battle of the Boulevard. We had a great time tonight, it was an awesome game. If Vandy had to lose, we were glad it was to the Gamecocks!
